player projects

Since the Door brought people into Hadriel, they've understandably wanted to improve their living conditions and put their own mark on the city they've been taken to. Here is a list of current player projects, who to contact, and how to get involved.

BAKERY
CONTACT: DELMAR ([personal profile] imhisaunt)
Delmar opened the 'Bear Hug Bakery' with the help of Hope providing ingredients and utilizing one of the abandoned buildings which Seel helped him to renovate.

BESTIARY
CONTACT: DR NEWTON GEISZLER ([personal profile] completelycrazy)
Newt and his crew at the science lab are studying the various monsters that come in through the Door every month. He's compiled an IC bestiary to keep the rest of the town up to date on the findings. He's always looking for more help with this, either in the lab or out collecting specimens in the field. If you'd like to get involved, you can contact Newt ICly or post to the bestiary here.

CITY GUARD
CONTACT: NICK VALENTINE ([personal profile] synthedick)
This group makes an effort to maintain law and order for the city, as well as providing protection from some of the dangers that events can bring. They patrol the city, teach self-defense, protect newcomers and those who cannot fight, and attempt to provide justice for crimes committed within Hadriel. They are always in need of new members. Those interested in getting involved can check the community, [community profile] undermanned, or speak to the organizers.

CLINIC
CONTACT: DR. LANCE SWEETS ([personal profile] lifetothefullest)
Found in a co-opted house, the clinic is currently the only centralized source of medical care in Hadriel - short of dying and letting Hope bring you back to life. A number of doctors and healers volunteer at the clinic, as well as support and nursing staff. They can always use both more volunteers and more supplies, which can sometimes be found in the shops around the city. More info on who is involved and how to join can be found here.

CITY FIREFIGHTERS
CONTACT: FINGON ([personal profile] utulien_aure)
A firefighting team that can handle building fires or burning fields or woods. Those interested in joining can check out the organization at its community site: [community profile] underequipped, or talk to Fingon.

LOCALIZED POWER SOURCE
CONTACT: REY ([personal profile] circumitus), KAIBA ([personal profile] allthecards)
The Dam and mini-grid is being rebuilt after it was destroyed by the Null. The new designs will increase the size and power of the grid. Additional power sources will be added in the coming months. In the end the power grid will include:
- Hydro power from the Dam
- Wind power from several mid-sized turbines in a mini-wind farm.
- Solar power from panels on several buildings.
Each power source is in a different location of the city to make it harder for the null to destroy all of them at once.

EMERGENCY CACHES
CONTACT: ?
There are ten red boxes spread throughout the cave, each filled with a variety of items in case of an emergency, including a trinket capable of healing minor injuries. Each cache will be marked on the map in the center of the city, though there are symbols near each box to direct people to their location during times of emergency. She made a public post informing everyone of them, as well.

HADRIEL IC DOCUMENTATION
CONTACT: NICK ([personal profile] synthedick)
Series of documents compiling information collected about Hadriel, its history, the gods, and what to expect while you're here. So far there is a newbie guide with helpful links and information!

HADRIEL SOCIETY FOR THE FINE ARTS
CONTACT: IKARUGA ([personal profile] elegant_and_proud)
With some help from other people part of Hadriel's library is finally open and running- with the very few books people from the city managed to write. There isn't much, yet, to share but the plan is to obtain musical instruments and try to find everyone things to do when the Gods aren't playing with people's feelings. If your characer writes a book please send a message here and if you need a musical instrument don't hesitate to send Rydia a message! CURRENT LOCATION DESTROYED BY THE NULL

MAP
CONTACT: ?
During a cleanup event run by Hope, a map was painted on a wall near the center of the city. In addition, a number of street signs were painted near it so that people could find their way around. More street signs were painted pointing to the clinic, though there are many streets with no directional markers at all. Though no one is currently in charge of updating this map, anyone who might be inspired to would find it easy to do so.

MEMORIAL GARDEN
CONTACT: CECILY TREVELYAN ([personal profile] closerift), GLACIUS ([personal profile] glacius)
The initial discussion and the IC announcement. Essentially, it's a place "near the forest" where people can leave markers with the names of those who have come and gone from Hadriel and remember them.

PHONE APPS
CONTACT: VARIOUS
A number of different apps have been created for the phones that Hope gives to each character upon arrival. These can be downloaded and used freely, and it is always possible for more to be developed. Currently the apps available are: a clock and a pedometer made by Hermann Gottlieb ([personal profile] verinumeri), an emoji app and an emergency alert app made by Chris ([personal profile] thechoiceisyours), and Pong and Ms Pacman made by Rhys ([personal profile] hybridification).

SCIENCE LAB
CONTACT: ALPHYS ([personal profile] sciencelizard), DR NEWTON GEISZLER ([personal profile] completelycrazy)
The Lab sits right around the clinic and shops and provides a laboratory workspace for the more scientifically inclined residents of Hadriel. It consists of a main lab area and a secondary small room that serves as a break space, including a small kitchen (with a fridge and stove) and a sofa bed. In addition, it houses a large supercomputer. It is usually occupied for private projects, but the door is open for those who want to get involved. Its community is [community profile] underfunded.

SEWING SHOP
CONTACT: MARGAERY ([personal profile] roseofthetyrells)
Though many different kinds of clothing can be found in the shops of Hadriel, finding something specific is nearly impossible. Even finding things in the proper size can sometimes be difficult. To solve these problems, the sewing shop was created - a repurposed shop where anyone with skill in sewing or other textile arts can work on making clothing to exact specifications, for themselves or someone else.

SPEAKEASY
CONTACT: REY ([personal profile] circumitus)
The Speakeasy is an old bar that's been renovated to accommodate the boozers of Hadriel, and is regularly managed and served by Rey when present. It has a more somber, bluer atmosphere than Delight's bar, and provides entertainment of music and the like via stage and jukebox. The basement stores the liquor supply, while spirits are prepped and distilled in a neighboring building that's been fit to facilitate their needs. On the top level one can find the Casino that houses a wide variety of games, and also includes a pool table and darts.

SHOOTING RANGE
CONTACT: DEPUTY PRATT ([personal profile] theweakhavepurpose)
The range consists of both melee, archery and gun targets, some are stationary human shaped targets, and others are spinners. Everything is made of remnants from the shops and scavenged parts from the Colosseum. There's a crate with a few bows, throwing knives and arrows, but for the most part those who want to use it are going to need their own weapons. Pratt will be periodically maintaining it, fixing the targets and restocking the supplies as he gathers more resources.
