bestiary

When the Door surges, it brings in monsters from any universe you can imagine. This happens monthly during the intro log, and occasionally throughout the month. Monsters that appear on the TDM also end up in Hadriel. Currently, these monsters are confined to the island the colosseum is on unless they can fly or swim - however, most will be wiped out quickly by kind monster hunters. A list of monster species that can no longer be found in Hadriel is here.

On the current world, there are some species of native wildlife that can be found and fought or eaten or observed. More information is available on the planetary rundown.

Jabberjays Jabberjays are a breed of bird that has been genetically engineered to perfectly imitate any human voice it hears. While they are no danger to anyone, they can certainly be alarming and frightening when they mimic the voice of your loved one screaming in terror or pain. More prosaically, they can repeat conversations word-for-word. There are currently about 15 of them around Hadriel. These creatures can be found within the city.
Kabutops Kabutops is a prehistoric creature with scythes for hands that can cut through the water (and human flesh) like it's nothing. Its skin is rough and difficult to penetrate with basic weapons, and contrary to what anyone canon-savvy may expect, they are impossible to tame- so you might try to run while you can.
Lava Crabs & Rock Crabs These confusing little things look just like rocks when they're in their shells, and they're content to stay that way... until you get close, and they come rushing out at you with their claws out, all ready to snip snip snip. Their hard shells make it difficult to hurt them, though you could always try to knock it off their back - or flip them over and attack their tender underbelly.
Virginias Virginias are rather disturbing-looking monsters, looking a bit like multiple bodies all squished together. They move quickly, they can charge and leap at you, and those creepy arms and legs hurt like hell. They also make skittering noises, if you want to be even more creeped out.
Wendigo Spirits While there are currently no active wendigos in the caves, Hope has trapped their spirits there, since he can't get rid of them entirely. This means no one is at any risk of being hurt by them or turning into a wendigo - unless they happen to resort to cannibalism while in the caves. Then they'll find themselves possessed by a wendigo spirit, slowly turning into a monster. So watch what you eat.
